The Disconnect Spring is used on the AR-15 platform as part of the Fire Control Group after the Trigger is pulled the Hammer is caught by the Disconnect and Disconnect Spring causing tension on the Disconnect until the Bolt Carrier Group cycles forward releasing the Hammer from the Disconnect.
